(3) Dallas County 9.7.2020
We started the day off in Dallas County at the Brenton Arboretum which was an all-around enjoyable experience, with a quiet stroll through the grounds and a nature-playscape for the kids.
After the Arboretum, we stopped at
the Korner Kone Ice Cream shop in Dallas Center, which is also a nice stop for
bicyclists as its just off the bicycle trails. There’s also an old train depot
in Dallas Center but unfortunately it was empty and closed.
After Dallas Center, we went
fishing and walked through the water on the North Skunk River. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch any fish but
still enjoyed our time along the river.
Next up was the Dallas County
Conservation in Perry. This was well worth the visit. The staff were very
friendly and let us tag monarchs on their way to Mexico. There were several
buildings to look through but most were closed due to COVID so this is one
we’ll definitely need to return to!
To wrap up Dallas County we got
some fresh cheese curds and chocolate milk from the Picket Fence Creamery just outside
of Woodward. An enjoyable way to wrap up our day!
